The ‘Youth Action Now’ Youth Advisory Committee is responsible
for determining the overall direction of the Youth Action Now project
and other duties necessary to meet project objectives.
As part of Youth Advisory Committee you will,
- Serve as “think tank” for the Youth Action Now project
- Minimum of four (4) meetings per year
- Respond to direction of Youth Action Now
- Interact with government, business and community leaders
- Participate in weekend retreats
- Assist in developing themes and focus of consultative workshops
- Meet other youth from across the province interested in promoting
opportunities for youth and multiculturalism in Saskatchewan
- 22-month time commitment (February 2004 to November 2005)
Maximum 10 members.
The ‘Youth Action Now’ Youth Project Leader is responsible for
helping facilitate and lead the Youth Action Now youth forums and
other duties related to the youth forums. The twenty five Youth
Project Leaders will work with the Youth Forum Co-ordinator, Project
Co-ordinator and YAN Executive Committee.
As a Youth Project Leader you will,
- receive facilitation and leadership training
- lead workshops across the province
- facilitate open discussion and foster an environment of learning
around topics related to youth and multiculturalism
- report to YAN Youth Forum Co-ordinator
- gain valuable leadership skills
- have opportunities to visit schools and communities throughout
the province
- be involved in an exciting youth-organized and driven project,
sponsored by the Department of Canadian Heritage
- meet other youth from across the province interested in promoting
opportunities for youth and multiculturalism in Saskatchewan
- participate in training workshops
- 15-month commitment (March 2004 to July 2004)
Maximum 25 participants.
