Realities of Human Trafficking: Conference

April 20, 2007 -- Everyday in our communities and abroad, children are exploited for profit. Two Saskatoon-based NGOs are working toward solutions and have teamed together to bring the message forward and work towards a solution.

Please awaken your conscience, inform yourself. This is a rare opportunity to hear this varied selection of guest speakers. Presentations range from international trafficking to local exploitation of the young in our community and tactics of predators using the Internet to lure victims.

"Communities for Children" advocates for children in the province of Saskatchewan while "NASHI" works to provide programming and support to at-risk children in Ukraine who are prime targets of being trafficked into the sex trade.

The Bells of Hope: Youth in Peril Conference, Realities of Human Trafficking will be held in Saskatoon on Friday and Saturday, May 11-12th at the Western Development Museum with journalist and author Victor Malarek as the keynote speaker.
