Thursday, April 26, 2007 – 8pm
Apriil 26, 2007 -- Chad Guy Productions Inc. in
co-operation with Double A Entertainment Inc. proudly present five-piece
gypsy world-fusion group PAPA DUKE in a cabaret-style concert at
The Exchange on Thursday April 26th, 2007 at 8 PM. Led by world-renowned
violin virtuoso Vasyl Popadiuk, the group brings its brand of infectious
Eastern European gypsy music to the Regina area for the first time
ever.
Having recently finished post production on its first one hour
TV special taken from its four sold out performances at the Montreal
Jazz Festival this past summer, Papa Duke is embarking on its first
tour of western Canada including this performance in Regina. The
show features a stunning blend of traditional and original songs
in a fusion of jazz, classical, & pop styles with incredible
musical performances by Vasyl and his superbly talented players.
Vasyl has just returned from yet another sold out performance at
the Nazarov Music Theatre in Moscow.
Originally from Ukraine, Vasyl Popadiuk is no stranger to Regina
having performed here solo with several Ukrainian dance groups and
as a special guest to Mediterranean guitarist Pavlo (who has called
Vasyl “a modern day Paganini!”).
With a built-in following for Vasyl’s trademark style of ‘extreme’
violin playing, Papa Duke Live at The Exchange (2431 8th Ave, Regina,
SK) is bound to sell out, so get your tickets early to see this
amazing performance!
